
Claire Elizabeth Carroll is a shop assistant with over eleven years experience of the Irish retail sector. Originally from Donaghmede on Dublin’s Northside she now lives in the North Inner City, counting President Michael D. Higgins as one of her newest neighbours. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin and having studied at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America Claire’s undergraduate research concentrated on Rabbinic literary narratives concerning Rabban Yohanan b. Zakkai of the 1st Century CE. Her subsequent writings centred on the spectra of interpretive approaches to the book of Jeremiah (Currents in Biblical Research Vol. 8 No. 2. 2010). An ongoing service user of the Irish Mental Health Services her interests in social justice focus on the interaction between the apparatus of the state superstructure and vulnerable individuals and communities. Claire also provides ongoing voluntary educational and social support within an afterschool intervention project for socially marginalised children from 8-13 years of age.
